Benefits Model Webinar

Tuesday, 12 May 2015 by ricardo.santos@winning.pt

Don’t miss out Pereira Diamond Benefits Model Webinar (online). Next 10th June.

Why are innovation initiatives key to business growth and sustainability? Despite the well advanced project management techniques, why do most projects fail to achieve the benefits described in the business case? How much are your initiatives’ benefits worth? What monetary value do they represent? How can we guarantee that two different people or teams, under the same circumstances, will reach the same conclusion?

One of the main problems for management and investment decision makers is the use of non-validated assumptions to justify intended results. Typically, the decision is made first and only afterwards a spreadsheet is created to demonstrate the desired outcomes!

Another concern, is the huge pressure organisations face to rationalise and optimize their resources – leading to a cost-control management paradigm. Organisations are often too focused on cost reduction projects, which in the long run compromises business growth. In addition, their budgeting process often relies on traditional incremental budgeting rather than a Zero-Based Budgeting process.

Other phenomena include; technology advancements, social networking and globalization which serve to make costumers more demanding, seeking greater return on their investment and better value for money.

Hence the reason business cases and benefits management should play a key role in supporting management and executive teams in making appropriate management decisions that optimise the creation of value.

The Pereira Diamond model addresses the benefits rationale and the main principles required to develop successful business cases.

In this webinar, the co-authors of the “Pereira Diamond: A Benefits Management Framework” published at the IJBM [International Journal of Business & Management] will advise on how to improve benefits estimation through the correct benefits formulation, maximising the return on investment and improved benefits realisation from project implementation.
