PM Best Practices

WINNING and Microsoft are pleased to invite you to the Best Practices in Project Management in Public Administration event that will take place on March 3 in Lisbon in the auditorium of Microsoft Portugal.

The public administration develops numerous projects of transformation and innovation, financed in different ways. The improvement of project management practices will stimulate greater effectiveness in carrying out these projects and – above all – present value and benefits to funding and management structures, improving the credibility of their promoters and the quality of the public service provided to citizens.

This is the motto of this event, which counts on the participation of ESPAP that will share its vision for a shared platform of methodologies and tools. Winning will present good project management practices in the context of public administration (central and local) and share a framework for measuring project value and benefits. Competitive Intelligence (CI) is a proactive, opportunistic, and prospective approach that consists of strategically searching and analyzing market and organizational information, identifying threats and opportunities. It is not only a defensive strategy to anticipate threats in the market, it is also a way to identify opportunities, new business ideas and new ways to regenerate the organization.

The ultimate goal is to generate business ideas, facilitate the decision-making process, reduce the reaction time to the market and disseminate intelligence through the company, in order to gain a competitive advantage in the market.

Scheduled obsolescence consists of the producer’s decision to purposely develop, manufacture and distribute a consumer product in a way that becomes obsolete or non-functional specifically to force the consumer to purchase the new generation of the product. In this way, the companies guarantee the constant consumption, through the dissatisfaction caused by the impediment of satisfying the needs of their clients, leading them to acquire a new product again.
